CLIMATE

Tied with Victoria for Canada’s #1 city with the ‘comfiest’ weather by Environment Canada, Nanaimo’s climate is one of its biggest appeals. Environment Canada determined the top ‘comfiest’ weather cities in Canada by selecting 23 criteria, including those cities with the mildest winter, spring and fall, most sunshine, lowest humidity and the lightest winds.

If that doesn’t entice you, Nanaimo’s weather is characterized by year-long moderate temperatures with the temperature rarely dipping below freezing in the winter. Nanaimo does get rainfall in the winter months; however it is less than Vancouver. The weather in Nanaimo is one of it’s biggest appeals with it’s temperate climate, warm dry summers and easy winters.

Nanaimo is one of the only places that you can golf, ski and surf all in the same day!
